S. J. Rollins Managed SIEM is our in-house security monitoring service for organizations across Maine. It collects security logs from across your systems, connects related events, and alerts our team when something looks wrong, so a small problem can be caught before it becomes a breach.

What is managed SIEM?
SIEM stands for security information and event management. A SIEM gathers the security logs from your firewalls, networking equipment, servers, computers, Microsoft 365, EDR (endpoint detection and response), and other data sources into one place and looks for patterns that point to an attack. Managed SIEM means a security team runs it for you: we set it up, tune it, watch the alerts, and act on them.
What managed SIEM does for your business
- It sees across your systems. A failed login on the firewall, a new admin account on a server, and an odd Microsoft 365 sign-in can each look harmless alone. Together they can mean an intruder. The SIEM connects them.
- It cuts the noise. Your systems log thousands of events a day. We set it up for your environment so the alerts that reach our team are the ones worth acting on.
- It puts people on the alerts. When something looks wrong, our team investigates and responds.
- It keeps a record. Stored logs show what happened, when, and on which system. Logs are kept for different lengths of time depending on the type of log. That record helps with investigations and with frameworks like HIPAA and CMMC that expect log review, and we’ve built reports around our clients’ compliance needs.
- It comes from a team you know. We built S. J. Rollins Managed SIEM in-house, so the people who set it up are the same people who answer your call.
How it works with the rest of your security
Managed SIEM is the layer that watches across your systems. It works alongside the other layers below, each of which stops a specific kind of attack.
Firewalls and perimeter security
Our firewall management and perimeter security, built on Cisco Umbrella DNS protection, block threats at the edge of your network. Firewall and networking logs are among the SIEM’s sources.
Endpoint security and ThreatLocker application control
Endpoint security stops malware on each device, and ThreatLocker lets only approved software run. EDR data is also one of the SIEM’s sources, so suspicious behavior on a computer can be connected to activity elsewhere.
Zero trust access and Huntress ITDR for Microsoft 365
Zero trust network access (ZTNA) checks every user and device before each connection, and Huntress ITDR watches your Microsoft 365 accounts for signs of a takeover. Many attacks start with a stolen login, which is why Microsoft 365 logs are one of the SIEM’s sources too.
Incident response
If an alert turns out to be a real attack, our incident response team contains it and restores what’s recoverable. Our emergency line is always staffed, and we handle incident response for businesses anywhere in the United States.
Who managed SIEM is for
Managed SIEM fits any organization that can’t afford to miss an intrusion, especially regulated industries across Maine:
- Healthcare. Medical and dental practices and other providers that need to protect patient data and show HIPAA safeguards.
- Finance. Banks, credit unions, accounting firms, and advisors with sensitive client data.
- Manufacturing and defense suppliers. Companies working toward CMMC or protecting production systems from downtime.
- Businesses without a security team. Organizations that need someone watching their logs but don’t have the staff.

Managed SIEM FAQs
Do we need a SIEM if we already have antivirus and a firewall?
Yes, if you want to catch the attacks that get past them. Antivirus and firewalls each block threats on their own. A SIEM connects the signals from across your systems to spot attacks no single tool flags, like a stolen login followed by unusual activity on a server.
How is managed SIEM different from buying SIEM software?
SIEM software collects logs and raises alerts, but someone still has to tune it, read the alerts, and respond. With S. J. Rollins Managed SIEM, our team does that work for you.
Does managed SIEM help with HIPAA or CMMC compliance?
It helps. Frameworks like HIPAA and CMMC expect you to record and review security activity on your systems. Managed SIEM keeps those logs in one place, and we’ve built reports around our clients’ compliance needs. It doesn’t make you compliant by itself, so we pair it with our compliance solutions.
What happens when the SIEM finds a threat?
Our team investigates the alert and responds. If it’s a real attack, our incident response team contains it and restores what’s recoverable. If you think you’re under attack right now, call 207-941-0264. Our emergency line is always staffed.
Who builds and runs S. J. Rollins Managed SIEM?
S. J. Rollins Technologies builds and runs it in-house. We’re a Maine IT company that has protected networks across the state since 1986, and the team watching your alerts also manages the rest of your security.
